H2 purity control of high-pressure alkaline electrolyzers

This paper proposes a control strategy that mitigates the cross contamination of H 2 and O in high-pressure alkaline electrolyzer, which consequently increases supplied gases purity. In order to reduce diffusion through membrane, controller establishes opening two outlet valves based on pressure system difference liquid level between both separation chambers. Therefore, multiple input - output optimal is designed here. For this purpose, an available high-fidelity model was simplified obtain control-oriented model. The proposed evaluated simulation using nonlinear wide operating range compared with pair decoupled PI controllers. resulting impurity below 1% all cases.
